I am excited to announce that I am now an Assistant Research Professor at USM. I honestly would not have thought that I would be sticking around south Mississippi for as long as I have, but I am excited for the new position and to be joining the great faculty in COA and SOSE. Hopefully, many more projects will be developed and collaborations formed.
Mark Peterson and I have also decided to "brand" our growing venture. I am grateful he gave me the opportunity to be his post-doc a few years back and glad to have his help, support, and advice in the new venture. We opted for calling the lab the Estuarine and Movement Ecology Lab (EMEL) as a way to unite (at least as much as we can) our backgrounds. Next step is a snazzy lab logo!
Now time to transition to teaching Marine Ichthyology online... still difficult to think about, but certainly a necessary step.
